Through this article we consider the Collective Imaginary Blog to be inaugurated. We intend to open a space for the conversation of trades in the field of architecture, design, art, science, philosophy, poetry, photography or any subject that comes to extend one’s own knowledge through an “other ”.
It is in this sense that we want to invite you to be part of this platform by sharing your ideas, writings, articles, reflections, etc.
Nowadays, when knowledge is more and more affordable for everyone, we believe it is necessary to generate multiple platforms that allow us to go beyond a single source. We give as an example architecture and the multiple ways of “carrying it”. As a collective imaginary we propose from our origin, to make the different related parties interact in a work. “Our initiative to found a collective is born mainly from the motivation to recognize the value that each trade can bring to a work. We believe that the integration of the trades required by a project from its origins allows to increase its value and consequence. ” (see more here). From this premise, we raised the idea of building a platform that would allow trades to open up to the current situation of the other languages that they could come across.
It will always be valuable for us to listen to an architect talk about the staircase, but we are intrigued to know what the bricklayer will speak, a sculptor or the calculating engineer from his own vision, or even a sculptor or a musician can have a valuable opinion about it.
It is in this sense that we seek, through this platform, to generate the possibility of approaching the gaze of other trades, fostering an encounter between points of view that may seem distant from each other, but that when they meet reveal an original way of attending to the called to build the world.
In order to present texts that are approachable by people outside the trade being exposed, we think in a 1000-word format (app), so that the information presented is rather an invitation to know and inquire about the theme that is developed in each published article. Even so, if the topic to be discussed requires more than a thousand words to address a “totality” or some other analogous way (for example, present a long topic in different chapters, or use fewer words and more images), always maintaining the possibility to freely approach the available space, always considering the original rule, keeping an open tone to the visitor.
